Oscar Properties commissioned Thomas Eriksson Arkitekter for the conversion of this factory. The entire construction process entailed a rewarding interface between developer and architect on how best to manage the inheritance from Luma. For us, Luma, a former light bulb factory, is modern Stockholm living at its best. The extra high ceilings and pale natural materials together with smart and practical solutions for a changing life. The Luma building is located on its own spit of land, separate from the other developments in Hammarby Sjöstad. This combination creates high quality living that by extension brings a higher quality of life. In addition to apartments, all with balconies, the development also includes eight three-storey Luma Townhouses, a unique addition to Hammarby Sjöstad. Pale, broad plank wooden flooring and balcony doors with large glazed sections that lead onto a large balcony with uninterrupted sea views – two examples that differentiate Luma Townhouses from other accommodation options, not just in Hammarby Sjöstad, but the whole of Stockholm. What’s more, the four metre ceiling height and large open spaces enable you to plan your home exactly how you want it.
